Leanna Crawford offers a moment of raw vulnerability on her latest single, “Honest.” Across the original selection, the rising artist admits, at times, her worship feels empty and her prayers seem halfhearted before asking God to come close and consider the innermost desires of her heart. The confession is deeply relatable for listeners who find themselves wrestling with their own feelings of doubt and conflicting emotions.

“It’s so easy to fall into the trap of trying to be perfect, especially when you feel like you have to show up ‘right’ for God, but that’s not what He asks for. He’s not looking for perfection, He just wants us to be real, raw and honest with Him,” Crawford says of the message behind her new song. “I think a lot of us struggle with that — feeling like we have to present our best selves, even when we’re facing struggles. But God already knows all of it. He knows our flaws, our fears and our doubts. And He’s not looking for perfection; He’s looking for a genuine, open heart. I think there’s something powerful about giving up that need for perfection and just showing up as we are.”

Encouraging listeners to be transparent with their Heavenly Father, who is eager to hear and answer our prayers, “Honest” serves as Crawford’s radio follow-up to “Still Waters (Psalm 23),” which earned the songstress the first No. 1 of her career and an inaugural K-LOVE Fan Award for Breakout Single of the Year. She performed a stripped-down version of “Honest” at this year’s Emerging Artist Showcase as part of the 2025 K-LOVE Fan Awards Weekend.
Both songs are featured on her full-length debut, “Still Waters.”
Following her premier headlining run, as well as a stint opening for We Are Messengers, the Washington state native is scheduled to join Zach Williams on the “Revival Nights” tour this fall.
