Cedarville University Has Expanded Fully-Online Undergraduate Degree Programs

For students pursuing higher education, the choice is not always between one school and another. Sometimes, it is between continuing their education or staying rooted in the responsibilities and relationships that matter most.

As Cedarville University expands its education offerings, students are discovering they do not have to compromise their educational goals to meet personal responsibilities. For junior Zach Erway, Cedarville's online finance program made it possible to pursue a degree while remaining present in his marriage, church, and in the life he is building in Swanzey, New Hampshire.

"Where will your spiritual life grow the most — on campus or online at home?"

That question, posed by a Cedarville University professor, became a defining moment for Erway. For him, the answer was clear.

Preparing to support his soon-to-be wife, Erway said the online program gave him the opportunity to continue his education while staying connected to his home and work.

“I was able to return home the summer after my sophomore year on campus,” said Erway. “A local bank offered me a part-time role during the school year, and in late September 2025, I was promoted to a full-time position, right in time for my wedding.”

Despite the physical distance from professors and classmates, Erway said he feels supported academically and spiritually. Now finishing his second year at Cedarville, he has especially enjoyed the classes in his Bible minor — a distinctive element of every Cedarville student’s education.

“The faculty are committed to our growth,” said Erway. “The online program equips me spiritually and academically.”

In March, he began a new role as an administrative associate at a financial advisory firm near his hometown. He will continue in that role as he works to complete his degree by next year.

Cedarville University Expands Fully Online Undergraduate Degree Programs

In fall 2025, Cedarville launched its first fully online undergraduate degree programs, reflecting a broader trend toward more flexible, accessible learning options. The university now offers online degrees in accounting, biblical and theological studies, communication, finance, information technology management, management, primary education and psychology.

Flexible Christian Higher Education Supports Students in Their Communities

As demand for flexible higher education continues to grow, Cedarville University offers students an education rooted in a biblical foundation while they remain connected to their communities and commitments.
