Sharing Jesus By Being The Light At Your Workplace

According to Gallup’s State of the Global Workplace 2026 report, global employee engagement declined in 2025 for a second year to its lowest level since 2020. Declining employee engagement worldwide highlights the need for greater purpose and connection at work, says Barry Meguiar, founder and president of IgniteAmerica, who encourages Christians to reflect their faith at work through personal integrity, everyday relationships with colleagues and thoughtful conversations to move others closer to Jesus.

Meguiar says Christians have a sphere of influence, including professional relationships, that create opportunities for faith-sharing. He encourages them to be intentional about building genuine connections, keeping commitments, listening well to colleagues and remaining open to conversations about Jesus.

“The workplace is one of the most overlooked places to share our faith because we often separate what we believe from what we do every day,” Meguiar said. “People notice whether we care about them, whether we’re genuine, and whether we treat them with respect. Those relationships can lead to conversations about Jesus without pressure or a rehearsed speech. Your business should be your pulpit.”

Research from Barna Group has found that half of practicing Christians strongly agree they have a personal responsibility to tell others about their religious beliefs. Meguiar’s message focuses on translating that conviction into everyday interactions rather than treating faith-sharing as a separate activity.

For Christians wondering how to approach sharing the Gospel thoughtfully during daily interactions, IgniteAmerica offers a free eBook titled “Conversations That Count: 10 Questions to Help You Share Your Faith Naturally.” The guide presents 10 questions intended to help Christians begin meaningful conversations and connect discussions with Scripture.

The eBook also explains why individual questions may be useful, suggests gentle next steps and encourages readers to allow the Holy Spirit to guide conversations. Its approach emphasizes personal attention and trust instead of confrontational exchanges.

“By living intentionally, building meaningful relationships and letting Jesus shine through your work, you become a powerful witness, impacting lives and pointing others to Him. Our responsibility is to be available, caring and faithful,” Meguiar said.
