Following an intentional hiatus from the road that allowed for KING + COUNTRY to focus solely on family and new music this year, the band of brothers returns with incendiary new single “World On Fire,” a K-LOVE First. Filled with the dynamic sounds of rhythmic drums and energetic chants, the upbeat anthem challenges listeners to let their inner light shine with a bridge that brilliantly interpolates the familiar lullaby “This Little Light of Mine.” The tribal cry also features rising songwriter and producer Taylor Hill, who helped craft the track with the group’s Joel and Luke Smallbone and producer Tedd T.

“There’s a lot going on in the world right now. One could even say the world has been on fire. But interestingly enough … this is flipping the phrase on its head,” Joel remarks of “World On Fire.” “This really represents this idea of being bold, being brave, being powerful, being optimistic, being hopeful — because there’s so much to live for. God has given so much, and there’s opportunity and there’s beauty. Stepping out into that bright, bold, beautiful future is really what this song represents for us.”
Alongside Hill, the Smallbone siblings served up a dazzling debut performance of “World On Fire” as they opened the 56th Annual GMA Dove Awards, complete with dancers and bursts of red-hot flames at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.

Earlier in the year, they shot a music video for the song in the Dominican Republic. Showcasing the brothers’ comedic timing and the beauty of how one person can make a massive difference, the colorful visual features a child whose life has been dramatically transformed thanks to a sponsorship through Compassion International.
“World On Fire” ignites the duo’s next musical era as they put the finishing touches on their fifth studio project, due next year. The 19-time K-LOVE Fan Award winners will give fans a taste of new music from their upcoming album, in between holiday favorites, on seasonal outing “A Drummer Boy Christmas” — an annual tradition and the only way to see for KING + COUNTRY live in 2025.
