Each Valentine’s Day, we’re reminded of the ultimate affection that comes from our Heavenly Father. His love for us is without measure. And it’s His unparalleled love that allows us to love others. If you ever doubt how He feels about you, there are plenty of songs that will quickly shift your perspective. After all, artists have spent centuries trying to articulate the love of God. It’s a profound mystery today’s modern artists are still attempting to unravel. In honor of all those pastel-colored conversation hearts we’ll soon be consuming, we’ve rounded up a handful of hits that will hopefully help you realize just how much Jesus loves you. Here are six songs for Valentine’s Day.
“Your Love,” Blessing Offor
GMA Dove Award winner Blessing Offor has quickly won the hearts of listeners worldwide since competing on “The Voice” and then eventually signing a recording contract with a Christian label with the help of Chris Tomlin, who immediately recognized Offor’s extraordinary talent. Now, the Nigerian-born singer/songwriter continues his meteoric rise with “Your Love,” a groove-centric, mid-tempo pop jam from his 16-track, GRAMMY®-nominated debut, “My Tribe.” “I’ve been running ‘round the edges, building my own happy endings, but they couldn’t take the testing, they just fell right down. I’ve been tryna push the limits, been asking why I should live in them. Couldn’t find no good there in it till You showed me how,” Offor sings on the piano-led track before launching into the hook-filled chorus: “Keep me right there in the middle of Your love, Your love. “Strong,” Anne Wilson
With her warm, gravelly tone and her farm girl aesthetic, it was only a matter of time before country music took note of Anne Wilson. The day just arrived sooner than expected. Following the massive success of signature hit, “My Jesus,” and subsequent singles, “Sunday Sermons” and “Hey Girl,” Wilson is officially entering her country era with “Strong.” But rest assured, she isn’t leaving Christian music in the dust. If you need solid proof, look no further than the lyrics of “Strong,” which remind us we’re held firmly by Love. Penned by the same prolific trio behind “My Jesus” — Wilson, Matthew West and Jeff Pardo — “Strong” is a testament to the power of time spent on your knees and in the Word of God. While country music’s hallmark storytelling is ever present in Wilson’s lyrical turn of phrase on the wide-open ballad, the message is anything but watered down. The songstress acknowledges that life is brutally hard, but our greatest weakness is no match for the strength of our loving Father. “Strong” is one-third of a three-pack recently released by the two-time K-LOVE Fan Award winner. Titled “REBEL (The Beginning),” the fresh song bundle starts the countdown to Wilson’s highly anticipated sophomore album.
“Any More,” CAIN
CAIN dropped their latest single, “Any More,” days before they hosted the 10th annual K-LOVE Fan Awards in 2023. The freshly minted original reminds us that God couldn’t love us any more or any less than He does in this very moment. The trio is currently sharing the contagious, pop-centric single in cities across the country on “Winter Jam ’24.” All first-time parents, the siblings sought to pen lyrics full of wisdom they want their babies to hold dear as they grow up and experience inevitable moments of doubt, guilt and shame. Together with songwriter friends Jeff Pardo and Matthew West, the chart-topping group crafted an unforgettable weapon of a hook that fights the lies the enemy constantly throws our way with the truth of God’s Word. “As a new mom, I’m starting to understand the love of God a little bit better. When I look at my daughter, Stevie, I don’t need anything in return from her. “He Does,” Brandon Heath
Brandon Heath serves up a joyful anthem with new radio single “He Does.” The piano-led, choir-assisted selection celebrates God’s role as a consistent provider and faithful friend. “Honestly, I was just thinking about all the things that we forget the Lord covers,” Heath says of the cleverly penned track. “He fills our needs in wild abundance and lavishes His love on us in crazy ways. We often just miss it. “Loved By You,” Riley Clemmons
“Loved By You” marks Riley Clemmons’ first radio single in two years. The pop-centric affirmation of our priceless value in Christ is stacked with textured guitars as the Nashville native reminds listeners they are loved beyond measure by the God of the universe. “Crazy About You,” Tauren Wells
When Tauren Wells sat down with co-writers Ethan Hulse and Bernie Herms to craft contenders for his latest project, “Joy in the Morning,” the three men started talking about the dynamics of an obsession. That conversation resulted in “Crazy About You,” a song about the way God feels about every single one of His children. The unconditional, sacrificial love of God is a crazy, all-consuming, mind-blowing kind of affection to comprehend. Yet, that love is real and available to each of us right here, right now.
