Casting Crowns gives God glory on “All Because of Mercy,” the award-winning band’s latest single. Insisting that full credit be given to Jesus for their salvation, their calling and their very lives, it’s a fitting theme song for their ongoing anniversary celebration, as the group marks two decades of ministry.
“The message of ‘All Because of Mercy’ is really simple,” frontman Mark Hall observes. “The only reason I belong to the Father, the only reason I can pray, the only reason I can rest and have peace is because of what God has done and the finished work of Jesus. When I’ve been reminded that the reason I belong to God is because of what He did through Jesus, I can come to Him in any condition and any situation. It is all because of Jesus and all because of His mercy.”
Hall wrote the mid-tempo anthem with Matthew West and AJ Pruis. Versions of the song appear on both the group’s complete “Healer” record, as well as their most recent milestone recording, “Lifesongs: A Celebration of the First 20 Years,” a 21-track “best of” collection that finds Christian music’s most respected acts covering Casting Crowns’ biggest hits.
To commemorate the moment, the two-time K-LOVE Fan Award-winning band is reprising their “20th Anniversary Tour” this spring. The 20-city trek will bring the collective’s catalog to life alongside a live symphony in major markets, including Nashville, New York, Birmingham and Atlanta, among others.
Additionally, Casting Crowns is set to be a part of the first night of this year’s sold-out “K-LOVE Live at Red Rocks” event on Aug. 6, 2024. The evening features an all-star lineup that also promises unforgettable sets from Danny Gokey, Andrew Ripp, Micah Tyler, Rachael Lampa and Tasha Layton.
