As the most decorated female vocalist in Christian music, CeCe Winans has accrued 31 GMA Dove Awards, 17 GRAMMY® Awards and 16 Stellar Awards. Yet, the genre trailblazer doesn’t have a single K-LOVE Fan Award lining her shelves…until now. Winans, 60, secured her first Female Artist of the Year trophy at the 12th annual K-LOVE Fan Awards.
Her inaugural fan-voted title arrives on the strength of 2024’s “More Than This,” her second live album and the follow-up to 2021’s career-invigorating “Believe For It.” “More Than This” spawned a global tour, showcasing reimagined versions of familiar anthems like Chris Tomlin’s “Holy Forever” and Stephen McWhirter’s “Come Jesus Come.” Additionally, it afforded Winans her most recent No. 1 hit, courtesy of “That’s My King.” Furthermore, Winans earned a pair of GRAMMYs® earlier this year for both “More Than This” and “That’s My King.”
Noah James and Paras Patel, who play Andrew and Matthew, respectively, in “The Chosen,” presented the Female Artist of the Year award to a surprised and grateful Winans. “It’s a privilege and an honor to do what we do. The spirit of God always brings awe and wonder,” the Gospel music pioneer noted, referencing the theme of this year’s awards show.
“Man, the newbies are great,” she added, complimenting the strong lineup of current Breakout Single contenders. “Unlike Brandon [Lake], I’m not 30-something, but this never gets old.”
As part of the full K-LOVE Fan Awards Weekend, Winans led the Sunday morning worship service, which also featured a special message from pastor, author and podcast host Jonathan “JP” Pokluda.
In addition to Female Artist of the Year, Winans also received nominations in advance of the 2025 ceremony for Artist of the Year and Song of the Year for “That’s My King.”
The revered vocalist will take her world tour to Europe next month. Later this year, she’ll join Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith on the “Christmas Together” tour.
