Female Artist of the Year: Anne Wilson

For the second time, Anne Wilson was crowned Female Artist of the Year at the 11th annual K-LOVE Fan Awards. Adding another trophy to her mantle, the songstress now owns a trio of golden ‘K’ statuettes. She won her first pair of trophies back in 2022.

The short singer could barely reach the mic, but when she took the stage to accept her award for Female Artist of the Year, she gave all glory to God, saying, “He is the prize. He is the treasure.”

The fan favorite also performed during the show, delivering an uplifting version of her latest No. 1 single, “Strong,” which was nominated for Song of the Year. Backed by a large assortment of accompanying musicians — many of whom wore cowboy hats — Wilson appropriately stepped into the actual Opry circle, her mic stand adorned with the traditional red and white Grand Ole Opry/WSM logo. The video screen behind her stretched as far as the eye could see with blue skies and green pastures, reminiscent of her native Kentucky.

The “My Jesus” vocalist recently announced a fall tour in support of her sophomore LP, “REBEL.” The album marks Wilson’s official foray into country music, where she’s swiftly been embraced by fans and critics alike. The multi-genre sensation collaborates with country music “It Girl” Lainey Wilson, country chart-topper Jordan Davis and four-time K-LOVE Fan Award winner Chris Tomlin on the new 16-track collection.

Prior to hitting the K-LOVE Fan Awards red carpet in a frilly, black CeliaB dress and Ranch Road Boots, Wilson made her carpet debut at both this year’s ACM Awards and the CMT Music Awards, where she was a first-time nominee for Breakthrough Female Video of the Year, courtesy of her lead country single, “Rain in the Rearview.”
